Celtics take 1-0 lead
Game 2 set for Sunday night
The Boston Celtics took a 1-0 lead in the 2024 NBA Finals with a 108-103 win over the Western Team on Thursday night. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 30 points, while Jaylen Brown added 27 points and Marcus Smart had 18 points.
The Celtics jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They led by as many as 16 points in the second quarter and held on to a 55-42 lead at halftime.
The Western Team made a run in the third quarter and cut the lead to 80-77 heading into the fourth quarter. But the Celtics regained control in the fourth quarter and closed out the victory.
Game 2 of the series is set for Sunday night at TD Garden in Boston.
